How can I tell that? That is easy. The picture below shows the special marks that drivers with less than 1 year of experience must display on the front and rear of their vehicles (the mark is called shoshin untensha hyooshiki, which literally means "the beginner driver's sign", top row on the picture). The driver 70 years of age or older must display one of the marks on the bottom row, the mark is called "koorei untensha hyooshiki," which means "aged driver's sign").
Откуда информация? Тут все просто. На картинке внизу (в верхнем ряду) изображены отметки, которые должны быть спереди и сзади автомобиля, водитель которого получил права менее года назад. В нижнем ряду изображены отметки, которые должны быть на автомобиле, водитель которого старше 70-ти лет.
